How We Began

Our products are the brainchild of Zion Shraiter, a professional woodworker with extensive background in construction. As a homeowner in Toronto, Zion became frustrated by the messy experience of recycling. He noticed that, as the city expanded its recycling and composting program, the untidiness grew and it was difficult to keep the bins free of ice, snow and raccoons. He knew that Toronto needed a better system. In addition, he felt there had to be a better way to store all those toys, bikes and gardening tools that littered his driveway from spring to fall. To create the perfect storage solution, Zion formed Bin Solutions in November 2004.

A detailed plan was formulated to turn Zion’s initial idea into reality. He acquired the exclusive services of accomplished product designer and developer, Srul Levy, who created our award-nominated, raccoon-proof systems. Months of research and development and extensive prototyping and testing culminated in our beautiful, easy-to-use cedar products featuring our Bin Storage system which comes with a proprietary “raccoon-proof GUARANTEED safety latch”. By the summer of 2005, the Bin Solutions name had become synonymous with stylish, raccoon-free outdoor recycling throughout the Greater Toronto Area. With the addition to the product line of our cedar Storage Sheds, the solution for waterproof outdoor storage of almost anything a household requires became an instant hit.

Our Production

Our production facility, located in North York, Ontario, boasts an all-local labor force. We use only the finest quality cedar in all of our product components.
